Discovering Brunswick's Past

Brunswick was started in 1879. Many of the first people who settled here came from Germany. Because of this, they chose the name Brunswick, which is also the name of a city in Germany called Brunswick. Another story says that a local farmer, who grew sugar beets, named the town after Brunswick, Germany. That German city was also famous for growing beets.
