Brush Creek is a small, quiet community in Butte County, California, United States. It's known as an "unincorporated community." This means it's a place where people live, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city does. Instead, it's managed by the larger county it's in.

Brush Creek is located near Oroville, a bigger town. It sits high up, about 3,540 feet (1,079 meters) above sea level. This is like being on top of a tall mountain! The community is found at the eastern end of State Route 162, just past the beautiful Lake Oroville State Recreation Area. In the past, Brush Creek was known by other names like Mountain Cottage and Mountain House. It even had its own post office from 1856 until 1916, helping people send and receive mail.
