Brushy Run is a small, quiet place in Pendleton County, West Virginia, in the United States. It's known as an "unincorporated community," which means it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. Instead, it's part of the larger county.
Where is Brushy Run Located?
This community is found right along U.S. Highway 220. This highway helps people travel through the beautiful landscapes of West Virginia. Brushy Run is a scenic spot where two smaller streams, Stony Creek and Brushy Run, meet. When streams meet, it's called a confluence. These two streams join together to form a larger one called North Mill Creek. The community actually gets its name from the Brushy Run stream!
What is the Climate Like?
The weather in Brushy Run is generally mild. This means it doesn't get extremely hot in the summer or extremely cold in the winter. There's also a good amount of rain throughout the year, which helps the plants and trees grow and keeps the area green.
Scientists use something called the Köppen Climate Classification system to describe different climates around the world. Brushy Run's climate is called "Cfb," which means it's a "marine west coast climate." This type of climate usually has cool, but not freezing, winters and mild summers. It also tends to have rainfall spread out evenly through the year, rather than having very dry or very wet seasons.
