Where the Name Comes From
The name "Bruzaholm" has an interesting history. It comes from "Brusan," which was the name of a river nearby. The second part, "-holm," is a common ending in Swedish place names. It often means a small island or a piece of land surrounded by water.
Over the years, the spelling of Bruzaholm changed a few times. In the 18th century and early 1900s, people spelled it differently. Some old spellings include "Brysaholm" and "Brusaholm."
The Modern Spelling
The way we spell Bruzaholm today was suggested in 1948. A person named Harry Ståhl
recommended this spelling. His suggestion helped make the name consistent.
