Eksjö Municipality (Eksjö kommun) is a local government area in Jönköping County, southern Sweden. The main town and administrative center of this municipality is Eksjö.
This municipality was formed in 1971. It was created when the old "City of Eksjö" joined together with three nearby municipalities. This made the Eksjö Municipality we know today.

Famous People
Albert Engström (1869-1940) was a well-known author, poet, and artist. He was also a member of the Swedish Academy, which is a very important group in Sweden. Albert Engström grew up in a small village near the city of Eksjö.
