Bryant was a small community in Palm Beach County, Florida, United States. It was not a city or town with its own government. Instead, it was an unincorporated community. This means it was a group of homes and businesses that were not officially part of any city.
Bryant was located close to Lake Okeechobee. It was about 3.5 miles (5.6 km) northeast of a town called Pahokee. For a while, Bryant even had its own post office with the ZIP code 33438.
What Happened to Bryant?
Bryant was once home to a large sugar mill. This mill was operated by a company called U.S. Sugar. The mill was known as the Bryant Sugar House. It was a very important part of the community. Many people who lived in Bryant likely worked at this mill.
However, the Bryant Sugar House mill closed down in 2007. After the mill closed, the community began to change. In 2011, the land where Bryant was located was taken over by the federal government. This led to the community being completely removed. By 2016, all the buildings in Bryant were demolished. This means they were torn down.
Over time, Bryant was seen as a small area just outside of Pahokee. Today, it no longer exists as a community.
