Bryant Lee Mix, born on July 28, 1972, is a former American football player. He played as a defensive end for the Houston/Tennessee Oilers in the National Football League (NFL). The Oilers picked him in the 1996 NFL draft. Before turning pro, he played college football at Northwest Mississippi Community College and Alcorn State University.

Bryant Mix's Early Life
Bryant Lee Mix was born in Water Valley, Mississippi. He went to Water Valley High School. There, he was a talented athlete. He played football, baseball, basketball, and track. In 1990, he helped his high school football team win the Class 3A State championship.
College Football Career
Mix started his college football journey at Northwest Mississippi Community College. He played there from 1992 to 1993. During this time, he was recognized as an honorable mention All-American. This award came from JC Gridwire and the NJCAA.
After that, Mix moved to Alcorn State University. He played for the Alcorn State Braves. He was a key player for two years. He earned All-Southwestern Athletic Conference honors in both seasons. He also received Black College All-American recognition. Mix set school records for the most sacks in a single game and in a season. In 2008, he was honored by being inducted into Northwest Mississippi Community College's "Northwest Sports Hall of Fame."
Playing in the NFL
Drafted by the Oilers
The Houston Oilers chose Bryant Mix in the 1996 NFL draft. He was the 38th player picked overall. He officially signed with the team on July 20, 1996.
Time with the Oilers
In his first year, 1996, Mix played in six games for the Oilers. He started two of those games. He made six solo tackles, two assisted tackles, and one sack. In 1997, the team changed its name to the Tennessee Oilers. Mix played in one game that year but did not record any stats. The Oilers released him on August 30, 1998.
Short Time with the Buccaneers
Mix then signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on October 27, 1998. However, he did not play in any games for them during the 1998 season. The Buccaneers released him on August 29, 1999.
Coaching After Playing
In 2001, Bryant Mix went back to his old high school, Water Valley High School. He became an assistant football coach there. He helped the football team win another state title in 2018. He has also coached track at Water Valley High.
