The Buick Regal is a cool mid-size car made by General Motors's Buick brand. It's known for being a comfortable and stylish ride. The Buick Regal has been around for many years, with its first version appearing in 1973. The newest models came out in 2011.
These cars are built in different places around the world. You can find factories in Shanghai, China, Rüsselsheim, Germany, and Oshawa, Ontario, Canada.
For a long time, the Buick Regal only had front-wheel drive. This means the engine powers the front wheels to move the car. But with the fifth generation, you could also choose all-wheel drive (AWD). AWD sends power to all four wheels, which can be helpful for better grip, especially in bad weather.
From 1974 to 2003, some Buick Regal cars looked very similar to another Buick model called the Buick Century. They often shared the same basic design. In 1997, the Regal got a fresh new look. It became a more fancy version of the Century, with different grilles and updated interiors.

Buick Regal Through the Years
The Buick Regal has changed a lot over its history. Each new version is called a "generation." There have been five main generations of the Regal so far.
First Generation (1973–1977)
The very first Buick Regal was introduced in 1973. It was a two-door coupe, meaning it had two doors and a fixed roof. Later, a four-door sedan was also offered. These early models were known for their classic American car style.
Second Generation (1978–1987)
This generation saw the Regal become a bit smaller. It was a very popular car, especially the sporty versions like the Regal Grand National. These cars were famous for their powerful engines and cool black paint jobs.
Third Generation (1988–1996)
The third generation brought a big change. The Regal switched to front-wheel drive only. It was offered as a coupe and a sedan. These cars were more modern and focused on a smooth ride.
Fourth Generation (1997–2004)
This is when the Regal became more upscale than the Buick Century. It had a new design and was known for its comfortable interior and strong V6 engines. Many families liked this version for its reliability.
Fifth Generation (2011–Present)
After a short break, the Buick Regal returned in 2011. This new Regal was based on a European car called the Opel Insignia. It was more sporty and modern than previous Regals. This generation also offered all-wheel drive for the first time.
