History of Burgoon
The village of Burgoon has an interesting past. A special office for sending and receiving mail, called a post office, has been open in Burgoon since 1873.
The village got its name from a person named Isadore H. Burgoon. He was an important official who worked for the railroad. If you want to learn more about him, you can find an exhibit about I.H. Burgoon at the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Center in Fremont.
