Calabazar de Sagua, often called Calabazar, is a small village in Cuba. It is located in the Villa Clara Province. This village is also known as a consejo popular, which means "people's council." It is part of the Encrucijada municipality. In 2011, about 7,912 people lived there.

History of Calabazar
Calabazar de Sagua was started in 1865. For many years, it was part of a larger town called Sagua La Grande. In 1977, there was a change in how areas were managed. After this change, Calabazar became its own separate area.
Geography and Location
Calabazar is in the middle of its province, on a flat, rural area. It is close to several other towns. For example, Encrucijada is about 4.5 kilometers southeast. El Purio is 4 kilometers northeast, and Mata is 4.5 kilometers southwest.
The village is also not too far from bigger cities. It is about 32 kilometers from Santa Clara. In the center of Calabazar, you can find the Parque Marti (Marti Park). This park has a statue of José Martí, a famous Cuban hero. There is also a quote from him in the park.
Getting Around Calabazar
The main state highway, called "Circuito Norte" (CN), goes right through the village. This highway is the second longest one in Cuba.
Calabazar also has a train station. It is called Calabazar-Mata and is located in the nearby village of Mata. This station is on a train line that connects to other towns like Camajuaní and Sagua La Grande.
If you need to travel by bus, there are buses to Santa Clara. They run on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 5:00 AM. From Sunday to Friday, you can also catch buses to Santa Clara at 6:30 PM and 8:15 PM.
