Calvin Douglas Jones was a professional baseball player from America. He was born on September 26, 1963, and passed away on February 12, 2022. Calvin played as a pitcher for two seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) with the Seattle Mariners.
Baseball Career
Calvin Jones went to the University of California, Riverside. There, he played college baseball for the team called the Highlanders. He played for them from 1982 to 1983.
The Mariners baseball team chose Calvin in the 1984 MLB draft. He was their very first pick in the first round! Calvin played his first professional season in 1984 with the Bellingham Mariners. This team was part of the Mariners' minor league system.
His last professional season was in 1996. He played for the Albuquerque Dukes, which was a Triple-A team for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Later Life and Passing
Calvin Jones passed away on February 12, 2022. He was 58 years old. His death was caused by cancer.
