Cama is a small town, also called a municipality, in the Moesa Region of Switzerland. It is located in the canton of Graubünden. A canton is like a state or province in other countries.

History of Cama
Cama was first written about in the year 1219. Back then, it was known as Camma.
The Old Railway Line
For many years, from 1907 to 1978, Cama was connected by a railway. This train line linked Cama to Bellinzona in the south and Mesocco in the north. The railway was called the Bellinzona–Mesocco railway.
Even after 1978, part of the line stayed open for moving goods. This section went between Cama and Castione-Arbedo station. It closed for freight in 2003. Today, you can still ride on this part of the railway for fun as a tourist!

Cama covers an area of about 15.1 square kilometers (which is about 5.8 square miles).

A small part of Cama's land, about 4.2%, is used for farming. A large part, 60.1%, is covered by forests. About 2.7% of the land has buildings or roads. The rest, about 33.1%, is made up of things like rivers, glaciers, or mountains.
Location and Parts of Cama
Before 2017, Cama was part of the Roveredo sub-district. It sits along both sides of the Moesa river. The municipality includes the main village of Cama and two other areas called Al Pont and Norantola.
You can also find a beautiful lake in the municipality called Lago di Cama.

Cama has a population of 589 people. In 2008, about 13.6% of the people living in Cama were from other countries. Over the last 10 years, the number of people living in Cama has grown by 3%.
