Camaret-sur-Mer is famous for its historic buildings and lovely natural spots.

The Golden Tower

One of the most important sights is the Tour Vauban, also called the Tour dorée (which means "Golden Tower"). This tower is a very old fort that was built between 1669 and 1694 to protect the harbor.

In 2008, the Golden Tower became a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This means it's recognized as a really important place for everyone in the world to protect, just like other famous landmarks. It's part of a group of forts known as the "Fortifications of Vauban", which were designed by a famous military engineer named Vauban.

Harbor and Beaches

Camaret also has a busy marina, which is a special harbor for boats and yachts. It's a great place to watch the boats come and go. You can also find some lovely beaches in Camaret, perfect for relaxing or playing by the sea.
