Cambridge City is a small town in Wayne County, Indiana, in the U.S. state of Indiana. It is located in Jackson Township. In 2020, about 1,751 people lived there.

History of Cambridge City
Cambridge City was first planned out in 1836. It was named after the city of Cambridge in England. The town's post office has been open since 1835.
The town grew a lot when the Whitewater Canal reached it in 1846. This canal helped move goods and people. Cambridge City is also on the old National Road (U.S. Route 40). Today, many people visit the town to look for antiques.
Several historic buildings in Cambridge City are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. These include the Cambridge City Historic District, the Conklin-Montgomery House, and the Lackey-Overbeck House.

Culture and Events
Each September, Cambridge City celebrates its history with the annual Canal Days festival. This festival remembers how important the Whitewater Canal was for the town's growth in the 1800s.

Cambridge City is located near I-70, a major highway. It has an industrial park called the Indiana Gateway Industrial Park. Several companies have facilities there, including Taconic Biosciences, Dot Foods, and Sugar Creek Packaging Co.

- Alice Williams Brotherton (1848-1930) – a writer.
