Camilla Franks (born 14 March 1976) is a famous Australian fashion designer. She is well-known for her bright and colorful kaftan designs. Her brand also creates stylish resort-wear.
Camilla's Early Life
Camilla Franks was born in Sydney, Australia. Her mother was a model who later became a fashion buyer. Her father worked as an architect. Camilla and her brother loved spending summer holidays on Fraser Island. They would swim and explore the island together.
Sadly, Camilla's younger brother, Ben, passed away when he was 14. This made Camilla very sad. To help cope with her grief, she focused on her work. She tried different jobs like planning events and working in advertising. She also became a theatre actress. For some of her plays, Camilla made costumes using old saris and kimonos. People loved her designs, and this led her to become a fashion designer.
Camilla's mother and grandmother were her first fashion inspirations. Her grandmother always wore beautiful kimonos, kaftans, or headscarves. As a teenager, Camilla lived in London for a year. There, she met JP Jones, who is now her partner.
Her Fashion Career
