Caminomorisco is a small town in Spain. It is located in a region called Las Hurdes, which is part of the province of Cáceres in Extremadura. People who live here are called morisqueños. In 2018, about 1,185 people lived in Caminomorisco.

Discovering Caminomorisco's Past
Caminomorisco used to be known by a different name: Las Calabazas. It got its current name in the early 1900s.
Over the last few decades, some smaller settlements nearby have become empty. These small groups of houses are called alquerías. Places like Casas de Jelechoso, Arrocartintero, and Arrocerezo are now abandoned.
Ancient Finds and Roman History
Many exciting old things have been found around Caminomorisco. Archaeologists have discovered ancient petroglyphs, which are pictures carved into rocks. They also found prehistoric steles, which are tall stone slabs with carvings. Other smaller carved stones have been found too.
These discoveries were made in areas like Arrocerezo, Vamesto, Cugoso, Los Tesitos, and La Coronita. There are also signs of Roman times in places like El Alcornocal and Valle Clara.
