Camp Creek is a small stream located in Fillmore County, a part of the U.S. state of Minnesota. It flows into the South Branch Root River. The creek got its name because early settlers used to set up their camps along its banks.
Exploring Camp Creek's Environment
Camp Creek is found in a special area called the Driftless Area. This region is known for its unique landscape. However, Camp Creek itself flows mostly through open fields. It doesn't have the tall cliffs you might expect in some parts of the Driftless Area.

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has studied Camp Creek. They found many different types of fish and other water creatures living there. Some of the species you might find include:

Trails and Tributaries
The Root River Trail system is a popular place for biking and walking. This trail follows Camp Creek for a large part of its path. A smaller stream called Partridge Creek also joins Camp Creek. It flows into Camp Creek near State Route 16. Partridge Creek used to be known as Duxbury Creek, named after the pioneers who settled in that area long ago.
