Camp Logan in Illinois was once a busy place for the Illinois National Guard. It was a base and a rifle range. Soldiers trained here from 1892 until the early 1970s. The camp was quite large, covering about 200 acres (0.8 square kilometers).
Today, some of its old buildings are still standing. They are special because they are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This means they are important historical sites. The camp was named after a famous soldier, General John Alexander Logan. Now, the land where Camp Logan once stood is part of a beautiful park called the Adeline Jay Geo-Karis Illinois Beach State Park.

What Was Camp Logan?
