Canyon Rim was an area in Salt Lake County, Utah, United States. It was known as a "census-designated place" (CDP). A CDP is a place that has a name and borders, but it is not officially a city or town.
In 2010, Canyon Rim joined with another CDP called Millcreek. Then, in 2016, this combined area officially became a city. In the year 2000, about 10,428 people lived in Canyon Rim. This was just a little less than the 10,527 people who lived there in 1990.
The area that used to be Canyon Rim is located near Interstate 80. It is also close to the Sugar House neighborhood of Salt Lake City. It sits right near the entrance of Parley's Canyon, which is how it got its name, "Canyon Rim." The area is well-known for its parks, including Canyon Rim Park, Tanner Park, and Parleys Historic Nature Park.
The former Canyon Rim area is part of the larger Salt Lake City metropolitan area. This means it's connected to the bigger group of cities and towns around Salt Lake City.

In 2000, there were 10,428 people living in Canyon Rim. These people lived in 3,936 homes, and 2,774 of these were families. On average, there were about 5,033 people living in each square mile.
Many different kinds of people lived in Canyon Rim. Most residents were White. There were also people of African American, Native American, Asian, and Pacific Islander backgrounds. Some residents identified as Hispanic or Latino.
About 30% of the homes had children under 18 living there. More than half of the homes were married couples living together. About 23% of all homes had just one person living in them. Many older adults, aged 65 or more, lived alone.
