Capiatá is a busy city and a district in the Central Department of Paraguay. It is a very important place in the country.

This city is special because it shares its borders with seven other cities. These are Aregua, Itaugua, Juan Augusto Saldívar, Luque, Ñemby, San Lorenzo, and Ypane. Capiatá is also home to the Francisco López Military Academy, a place where future military leaders are trained.

The name Capiatá comes from an old language called Classical Guarani. People believe the name was created from two Guarani words. These words are capyí, which means "grass" or "hay," and atȃ́, meaning "hard." So, the name might mean "hard grass" or "tough hay."
