Capiatá is a busy city and a district in the Central Department of Paraguay. It is a very important place in the country.
This city is special because it shares its borders with seven other cities. These are Aregua, Itaugua, Juan Augusto Saldívar, Luque, Ñemby, San Lorenzo, and Ypane. Capiatá is also home to the Francisco López Military Academy, a place where future military leaders are trained.
What Does Capiatá Mean?
The name Capiatá comes from an old language called Classical Guarani. People believe the name was created from two Guarani words. These words are capyí, which means "grass" or "hay," and atȃ́, meaning "hard." So, the name might mean "hard grass" or "tough hay."

The district of Capiatá is divided into two main parts. There is the main city area, which is the urban center. Then, there are 15 smaller areas outside the city center. These smaller areas are called compañías.
