What is the Capital Region?
The Capital Region of Denmark is one of five large administrative areas in the country. It was created in 2007 to help organize public services better. These services include things like hospitals, public transportation, and environmental planning.
The region covers a big part of eastern Zealand, which is Denmark's largest island. It also includes the island of Bornholm, which is located further east in the Baltic Sea.

The Capital Region is made up of many different cities and towns, called municipalities. There are 29 of these municipalities in total. Each municipality has its own local government that takes care of things like schools, local roads, and waste collection.
