Cara Jocelyn Delevingne (born 12 August 1992) is an English model and actress. She began her career after leaving school in 2009 when she signed with Storm Management. Delevingne won the Model of the Year award at the British Fashion Awards in both 2012 and 2014. She has also won three Teen Choice Awards for her work.
Delevingne started acting with a small part in the 2012 movie Anna Karenina. She is known for playing Margo Roth Spiegelman in the movie Paper Towns (2015). She also played the Enchantress in the superhero film Suicide Squad (2016). Another one of her major roles was Laureline in Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (2017).

Early life
Cara Jocelyn Delevingne was born on August 12, 1992, in London, England. Her parents are property developer Charles Hamar Delevingne and Pandora Stevens. She grew up in the Belgravia area of London with her two older sisters, one of whom is Poppy Delevingne.
Her family has a long and interesting history. Her maternal grandfather was Sir Jocelyn Stevens, who was the chairman of English Heritage. Her paternal grandmother was Angela Delevingne. Through her family, she is related to many historical figures.
Delevingne went to Bedales School in Hampshire. She has dyspraxia, a condition that can make coordination difficult, and she found school to be a challenge. When she was 15, she went through a difficult time and struggled with her feelings.
Career
Modeling Beginnings
Delevingne's first modeling job was at age ten for Vogue Italia. In 2009, she signed with Storm Management. It took a year of hard work before she started getting paid jobs.
Her big break came in 2012 when she was noticed by Christopher Bailey of Burberry. He chose her for the company's spring/summer 2011 campaign. This launched her career on the runway. She began walking in shows at London Fashion Week for Burberry.
Soon, she was one of the most in-demand models in the world. She walked in fashion shows in New York, London, Milan, and Paris for famous brands like Chanel, Fendi, and Dolce & Gabbana. She became a favorite of designer Karl Lagerfeld, who called her "full of life."

Over the next few years, Delevingne walked in dozens of shows each season. She also appeared in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in 2012 and 2013. She became known for her strong eyebrows and fun personality on and off the runway.
Switch to Acting
While still modeling, Delevingne started her acting career. Her first role was as Princess Sorokina in the 2012 movie Anna Karenina. In 2013, she was the voice of a radio DJ in the popular video game Grand Theft Auto V.
In 2014, she appeared in the TV play Timeless and a short film for Chanel called Reincarnation with singer Pharrell Williams. She also played a main role in the film The Face of an Angel. Critics praised her acting, saying she brought energy to the screen.
By 2015, Delevingne began to focus more on acting. She appeared in fewer fashion shows. She wanted to explore new creative projects and do things she loved.
Acting Success
In 2015, Delevingne starred as Margo Roth Spiegelman in Paper Towns, a movie based on a novel by John Green. Her performance was well-received, and critics said she was a talented actress who was "here to stay."

Besides modeling and acting, Delevingne is also a musician. She sings and plays the drums and guitar. In 2013, she recorded a cover of the song Sonnentanz with singer Will Heard. She also sang "CC the World" with Pharrell Williams for a Chanel film. In 2017, she released her own song, "I Feel Everything," for the Valerian movie soundtrack.
In 2017, she became an author. She wrote a young adult novel called Mirror, Mirror with writer Rowan Coleman.
Fashion and Business
Delevingne has also worked as a designer. She created a collection for DKNY that included sporty, unisex clothing like hats and jackets. She also designed four collections of bags and accessories for the brand Mulberry.
In 2020, she started a company called Della Vite with her sisters, Poppy and Chloe. The company sells a type of sparkling wine called Prosecco.
Personal Life
Delevingne is a big animal lover. In 2015, after the killing of Cecil the lion, she auctioned her watch to raise money for wildlife protection. The auction raised over £18,600. She also supports environmental causes and has spoken about the importance of protecting nature.
She has several tattoos. Her first was a lion on her finger for her zodiac sign, Leo. She also has "MADE IN ENGLAND" on the bottom of her foot and an elephant on her arm in memory of her grandmother.
In March 2024, her home in Los Angeles was destroyed in a fire. Firefighters were able to rescue her two cats, and Delevingne was not home at the time. The fire was likely caused by an electrical problem.
