Carlos Aguilar's Soccer Journey
Carlos Aguilar has had an exciting career in soccer. He played at the college level and then professionally. Now, he helps train new players as a coach.
Playing Soccer in College
Carlos went to Palmdale High School. After high school, he played college soccer for two years at Taft College. In 2007, he scored two important goals. These goals helped his team win the California Collegiate State Soccer Championship.
Later, Carlos moved to the University of California, Irvine. During his final year there, he scored six goals. He also helped his teammates score seven times. Because of his great playing, he was named to the All-Big West Conference First Team.
While in college, Carlos also played for other teams. He played with the Lancaster Rattlers and Bakersfield Brigade. These teams were part of the USL Premier Development League. This league helps young players get ready for professional soccer.
Playing Soccer Professionally
After college, Carlos became a professional soccer player. In February 2010, he joined the Rochester Rhinos team. His first professional game was on April 10, 2010. He played against Miami FC.
Carlos played in a few more games during his first professional season. In 2011, he moved back to California. There, he played for the Los Angeles Blues 23 team. This team was also part of the USL Premier Development League.
Coaching Future Stars
After his playing career, Carlos started coaching. From 2011 to 2014, he was an assistant coach for the UC Irvine Anteaters. Then, from 2014 to 2019, he coached at Cal State Fullerton Titans. Since 2020, he has been an assistant coach for the San Diego State Aztecs. He helps young players learn and grow in the sport.
