Carmichaels is a small town, called a borough, in Greene County, Pennsylvania, United States. In 2020, about 432 people lived there. This number was a bit lower than the 483 people counted in 2010.

History of Carmichaels
Carmichaels has some important historical spots. The Carmichaels Covered Bridge is a very old bridge with a roof. The Greene Academy is another historic building. Both of these places are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This means they are special and protected because of their history.
Carmichaels is also known for the Coal Queen Pageant. This is an annual event where young women from all over Greene County compete. They hope to be crowned the "Coal Queen." It's a big tradition in the area.
Education in Carmichaels
Carmichaels is home to the Carmichaels Area School District. This district has an Elementary Center for younger students. It also has a Jr/Sr High School for older students. Both schools are located on the same grounds. The school teams are known as the "Mighty Mikes."
Geography of Carmichaels
Carmichaels is located in the eastern part of Greene County. It is surrounded by Cumberland Township. However, Carmichaels is its own separate town.
Pennsylvania Route 88 is a main road that goes through the borough. This road goes north about 9 miles to Fredericktown. It also goes south about 14 miles to Point Marion.
Carmichaels covers a total area of about 0.17 square miles (0.44 square kilometers). A small part of this area, about 0.01 square miles, is water. Muddy Creek is a stream that flows through the northern part of the borough. It goes under the Carmichaels Covered Bridge.

Electric Power Plant
Carmichaels is home to the Hill Top Energy Center. This is a new power plant that uses natural gas to make electricity. It can produce a lot of power, about 625 megawatts. It started working in the summer of 2021.
Famous People from Carmichaels
Many interesting people have connections to Carmichaels:
- Todd Tamanend Clark is a poet and composer. He lived in Carmichaels for a few years in the 1960s.
- Albert B. Cummins was born in Carmichaels in 1850. He later became a governor and a U.S. senator for Iowa.
- Richard Trumka was born and grew up near Carmichaels. He went to school in Carmichaels. He became the president of the AFL–CIO, a large group of labor unions.
- Pete Putila was born in Carmichaels in 1989. He is now the General Manager for the San Francisco Giants baseball team.
