Carol Arthur (born Carol Arata; August 4, 1935 – November 1, 2020) was an American actress. She was well-known for her supporting roles in movies directed by Mel Brooks.

Early Life and School
Carol Arthur was born in Hackensack, New Jersey. She grew up in a nearby town called East Rutherford. Her father, Peter Arata, was a police officer. Carol went to East Rutherford High School. While there, she worked on the school newspaper and acted in plays.
Acting Career
Carol Arthur had a long acting career that lasted from 1961 to 2004. She often appeared in movies made by the famous director Mel Brooks. Some of these movies include Blazing Saddles (1974), Silent Movie (1976), Robin Hood: Men in Tights (1993), and Dracula: Dead and Loving It (1995).
She also had a notable role in the 1975 movie The Sunshine Boys. In this film, she played the daughter of a character played by George Burns.
Carol Arthur also appeared in many TV shows. From the mid-1970s to the mid-2000s, you might have seen her on shows like Emergency!, Sanford and Son, Rhoda, Alice, and 7th Heaven. She was also in an episode of Steven Spielberg's Amazing Stories.
In the late 1970s and early 1980s, Carol Arthur played a character named "Safety Sadie." She was a spokeswoman for the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). She appeared in TV and radio messages to help teach people about product safety.
Besides movies and TV, Carol Arthur also performed on stage. She was in several plays, including a Broadway show called The Music Man in 1980. In this play, she acted alongside Dick Van Dyke.
Family Life
Carol Arthur met her husband, Dom DeLuise, in 1964. They were both working in theaters in Provincetown, Massachusetts. They got married in 1965. Carol and Dom had three sons together: Peter, Michael, and David DeLuise. All three of their sons also became actors, following in their parents' footsteps.
Later Years and Passing
Carol Arthur passed away on November 1, 2020, at the age of 85. She died in Los Angeles, California. Eleven years before her passing, she had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, which is a memory illness. She is remembered by her three sons and her grandchildren.
