Divorce and Second Marriage

In 1810, Caroline and Lord Paget divorced. This happened before Lord Paget became a Marquess. The divorce was due to issues in their marriage. Lord Paget was involved with Lady Charlotte Wellesley. Her husband, Henry Wellesley, 1st Baron Cowley, was the brother of the famous Duke of Wellington.

Charlotte's brother, Henry Cadogan, had a disagreement with Lord Paget. This led to a challenge, but no one was hurt.

Caroline then went to the Scottish courts to get her divorce. The divorce was finalized in November 1810. Just three weeks later, she married the Duke of Argyll. Their wedding took place in Canongate, Edinburgh. This was the Duke's only marriage, and they did not have any children together.

Later Life and Legacy
