Caroline Anne Crowley (born 23 May 1964) is an Irish actress and a former radio and television presenter. She is well-known for her roles in TV shows and films.
Carrie Crowley had her own chat show called Limelight. She also co-presented the Eurovision Song Contest 1997 with singer Ronan Keating. She has acted in popular TV series like The Clinic, School Run, An Crisis, and Fair City. She played the character Elisef in the first two seasons of the TV series Vikings. In 2022, she was nominated for a Best Supporting Actress award at the IFTA for her role in the film An Cailín Ciúin (The Quiet Girl).

Early Life and Education
Carrie Crowley was born and grew up in Waterford, a city in the southeast of Ireland. Her mother, Nodhlaig, was a teacher from The Rosses in County Donegal. Her father, Con, was a police officer (called a garda) from Cork. Carrie has one sister named Bríd.
Carrie first started performing on stage in a local play called Oliver!. She later went to St. Patricks College, Drumcondra, where she earned a degree in education. This prepared her to become a primary school teacher.
Television and Radio Career
Before she became famous on television, Carrie Crowley worked as a primary school teacher. She started her broadcasting journey on a local radio station in Waterford called WLR FM. She hosted different shows there from 1991 to 1996.
After that, she moved to RTÉ, which is Ireland's national broadcaster. She began by working on children's programs. She co-presented the Irish language version of Echo Island with comedian Dara Ó Briain. She also starred as the character Liodain in the pre-school series The Morbegs.
Eurovision Song Contest
In 1997, Carrie Crowley was chosen to present the Eurovision Song Contest 1997. Ireland was hosting the event that year. She presented the show alongside Ronan Keating. She also appeared briefly before the 1998 Eurovision Song Contest, chatting with the presenters Terry Wogan and Ulrika Jonsson.
After Eurovision, Carrie became one of the most popular stars on RTÉ in the 1990s. She worked on several shows during this time. She presented Potluck every weekday afternoon. On Thursday nights, she had a health show called Pulse. On Sundays, she hosted her own prime-time chat show, Limelight, which ran for two seasons.
Later, Carrie decided to stop presenting television shows. She returned to radio, co-hosting a show called Fandango with Ray D'Arcy on RTÉ Radio 1. She was on RTÉ Radio 1 every Sunday night. Carrie has since said that her time in television presenting was a bit of an "accidental" journey for her.
Acting Roles
Carrie Crowley has built a successful acting career. In 2008, she appeared in the TG4 drama The Running Mate. The next year, 2009, she was in TV3's School Run and also The Clinic.
She has acted in short films in the Irish language, including An Gaeilgeoir Nocht. She also appeared in an episode of the Irish language TV series An Crisis. Another drama series for TG4 she starred in was called Anseo. In 2010, she worked on a play called The Adventures of the Wet Senor. From October 2014 to 2018, she was a cast member in the popular Irish soap opera Fair City.
In 2022, Carrie appeared in An Cailín Ciúin (The Quiet Girl). This Irish-language drama film was nominated for an Academy Award for Best International Feature Film. For her performance in this film, Carrie was nominated for a Best Supporting Actress award at the IFTA awards.
Personal Life
Carrie Crowley married her long-time partner, Ross Kelly, in 2004. They had first met in 1996.
