Carrollwood Village is a community in Hillsborough County, Florida, United States. It's not officially a city, but it's a busy and well-known area. It shares its name with nearby Carrollwood. Together, they form a larger area that the government counts for population studies. The special mail codes, called ZIP codes, for this community are 33624 and 33618. Back in 1990, Carrollwood Village was counted on its own and had about 15,051 people living there.

Carrollwood Country Club

When Carrollwood Village was being built, a large golf course and country club was also created. This was called the Carrollwood Village Golf and Country Club. It had 27 holes, which is a lot of golf! In the 1980s, this club even hosted some big golf tournaments for older professional players.

Changes to the Club's Name

Over the years, the club changed its name a few times.

  • In 2001, it became the Country Club of Carrollwood.
  • Then, in 2003, it changed to Emerald Greens Golf Resort & Country Club.
  • Finally, in 2013, it went back to its original roots and became the Carrollwood Country Club again.

Upgrades at Emerald Greens

When it was known as Emerald Greens, the club got a lot of new features. All the golf holes were updated or redesigned. A brand new clubhouse and a fun recreation center were built. They also added places to stay, like condos and vacation villas. The tennis courts were made new, and a fresh pool area was added for everyone to enjoy. The name was changed back to Carrollwood Country Club to honor its long history, which started in the 1970s.
