Carson Jones Daly (born June 22, 1973) is a well-known American television host, radio personality, and producer. He became famous as a VJ (video jockey) on MTV's Total Request Live (TRL) from 1998 to 2003. He also worked as a DJ for the radio station 106.7 KROQ-FM in Southern California.
Since 2002, Carson Daly has worked with NBC. He hosted and produced the late-night show Last Call with Carson Daly. He also hosted special events like the Macy's 4th of July Fireworks show and produced New Year's Eve with Carson Daly from Times Square starting in 2003.
More recently, Daly has taken on bigger roles at NBC. In 2011, he became the host of the popular music competition show The Voice. In 2013, he joined NBC's morning show Today as a social media reporter, and his role has grown to co-host.
Carson Daly has also continued his work in radio. He hosted Mornings with Carson Daly on KAMP-FM in Los Angeles from 2010 to 2017. He also hosts a weekly countdown show called The Daly Download with Carson Daly, which plays on radio stations across the country.

Early Life and Beginnings
Carson Daly was born in Santa Monica, California. His mother, Pattie Daly Caruso, was a TV personality, and his father, Jim Daly, was a car salesman. Carson's father passed away when Carson was young. His mother later married Richard Caruso.
Daly went to Santa Monica High School and was part of the golf team. After graduating in 1991, he attended Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. However, he left college to try to become a professional golfer. He has Irish family roots.
Carson Daly started his radio career as an intern for Jimmy Kimmel. He also worked at College of the Desert and interned at a radio station called KCMJ FM, where he was known as "Kid Carson."
Carson Daly's TV Career

Carson Daly began his broadcasting journey at a radio station in San Jose, California. He then moved to KROQ in Los Angeles. While at KROQ, MTV asked him to be a VJ for their summer show, "Motel California."
In 1997, MTV hired Daly as a full-time VJ, which meant he moved to New York. There, he started hosting MTV Live.
Hosting Total Request Live
Carson Daly hosted MTV's TRL from 1998 to 2003. This show was very popular and combined two earlier shows that Daly had also hosted. As the host of TRL, he would introduce the top 10 music videos of the day and interview famous celebrity guests.
Last Call and New Year's Eve
In 2002, Carson Daly's own late-night show, Last Call with Carson Daly, began. The show was first filmed on the same set as Saturday Night Live until 2005, when it moved to Los Angeles.
Starting in 2003, Daly also began hosting a special New Year's Eve show for NBC, called New Year's Eve with Carson Daly.
Hosting The Voice
In 2011, Daly started hosting and producing NBC's reality music competition, The Voice. As the host, he watches the "blind auditions" with the contestants' families. He has also won four Emmy Awards as a producer for The Voice for being an "Outstanding Reality-Competition Program." He won these awards in 2013, 2015, 2016, and 2017.
When the social media reporter left The Voice in 2013, Daly became the only host of the show.
Joining the Today Show
In September 2013, Carson Daly became the "orange room anchor" (a social media reporter) on the Today show. He also sometimes filled in as an anchor for other hosts. Since 2020, his role on Today has grown, and he is now a co-host. Every morning, he presents the "PopStart" segment, which shares celebrity news.
Other Appearances
Daly had a small but important role in the first episode of My Name Is Earl. In the show, a character named Earl learns about karma from watching Carson Daly on Last Call with Carson Daly. This inspires Earl to change his life for the better.
Daly also had a small part on Dave Chappelle's show Chappelle's Show.
Personal Life
Carson Daly lives in the Village of Flower Hill, which is on Long Island, New York.
In 2000, he met actress Tara Reid on the set of Total Request Live. They dated and were engaged, but they later broke off their engagement in 2001.
Daly became engaged to Siri Pinter, a food blogger, in 2013. Her father is the actor Mark Pinter. Carson and Siri got married on December 23, 2015. They have four children together.
Carson Daly has shared that he deals with generalized anxiety disorder and panic disorder.
