A Local Hero: Ysmael R. Villegas
One important person who lived in Casa Blanca was Ysmael R. Villegas. He was born in 1924 and passed away in 1945. Ysmael Villegas became a true hero during World War II.
He was the very first person from Riverside County to receive the Medal of Honor. This is the highest award for bravery a soldier can earn in the United States. He is now buried at Riverside National Cemetery. His grave was the first one placed in that cemetery.
