A Look Back in Time
Long ago, Casavalle was not part of Montevideo. It was a separate village within the Montevideo department. Over time, it grew and changed. In 1908, a big change began with the creation of Barrio Plácido Ellauri. This project was started by Francisco Piria. These changes helped Casavalle become a part of the main urban area of Montevideo.
