William Casey Weldon, born on February 3, 1969, is a former American football player. He was a quarterback, which is the player who leads the team's offense, in the National Football League (NFL).
He played college football for the Florida State Seminoles from 1988 to 1991. In his final year in 1991, Weldon was recognized as a first-team All-American. This means he was one of the best players in college football that year. He also finished second in the voting for the Heisman Trophy, a famous award for the most outstanding player in college football.

Casey Weldon's Football Journey
Playing in College
Casey Weldon played college football for the Florida State Seminoles. He was their quarterback for four years. In 1991, he had a fantastic season. He was named an All-American, which is a big honor. He also came very close to winning the Heisman Trophy.
Joining the NFL
After college, Casey Weldon was chosen by the Philadelphia Eagles in the fourth round of the 1992 NFL draft. This draft is where NFL teams pick new players from college. He also played in other football leagues. These included the World League and the XFL with the Birmingham Thunderbolts.
Coaching After Playing
After his time as a player, Weldon became a football coach. He returned to his old high school, North Florida Christian High School, in 2006. He became the head football coach for the varsity team.
During his two years as head coach, he led the team to the Florida division 1A state championship game twice. Even though they didn't win the championship both times, he had a great record. He won 23 games and lost only 5. In 2008, he became the offensive coordinator at Leon High School.
