Casper's Haunted Christmas is a fun animated movie from 2000. It went straight to video, meaning it wasn't shown in movie theaters first. This film is based on the friendly ghost character, Casper the Friendly Ghost. It was made by Harvey Comics and Mainframe Entertainment. The movie came out on October 31, 2000, which is Halloween!
Unlike some other Casper movies, this one is completely computer-animated. It doesn't mix live actors with animated characters. Brendon Ryan Barrett provides the voice for Casper in this film. He had also voiced a different character in an earlier Casper movie.
Five years after it was released on video, the movie was shown on Cartoon Network. This happened on December 1, 2005.
The Spooky Story
The movie's plot starts with Kibosh, who is the powerful King of Ghosts. He makes a very strict rule for Casper. Casper must scare someone before Christmas Day. If he doesn't, Casper will be sent to a place called The Dark forever. His uncles, the Ghostly Trio, will also be banished with him.
To make sure Casper tries to scare someone, Kibosh takes away the Ghostly Trio's scare licenses. He then sends them all to a town called Kriss, Massachusetts. This town is full of Christmas spirit. There, they meet the Jollimore Family.
Casper, being his usual friendly self, starts to make friends. He especially becomes good friends with Holly, the daughter of the Jollimore family. This makes the Ghostly Trio worried. Casper's good behavior means he isn't scaring anyone. So, the Ghostly Trio decide to call in some help. They bring in Casper's cousin, Spooky the Tuff Little Ghost, who looks just like Casper. Spooky and his girlfriend Poil are supposed to do the scaring job instead.
