Castile is a town located in Wyoming County, New York. It's a special kind of area called an "incorporated town." In 2010, about 2,906 people lived here.
The town got its name from a historical region called Castile in Spain. You can find the Town of Castile on the eastern edge of Wyoming County. There's also a smaller place inside the town that's called the Village of Castile.

History of Castile
The Town of Castile was created in 1821. It was formed from a part of another nearby area called the Town of Perry.
Geography of Castile
Castile covers a total area of about 38.4 square miles (99.6 square kilometers). Most of this area, about 37.0 square miles (95.9 square kilometers), is land. The rest, about 1.4 square miles (3.7 square kilometers), is water.
The eastern border of the town is also the border of Livingston County, New York.

- George H. Calkins was a physician and served in the Wisconsin State Assembly.
- Athelston Gaston was a US Congressman from Pennsylvania.
- Cordelia A. Greene, M.D., was a doctor who started the Castile Sanitarium. She also helped fund the town's Cordelia A. Greene Public Library.
- Clara Swain was a doctor and a missionary for the Methodist Episcopal Church.
- John B. Halsted was a member of the New York State Senate from 1856 to 1859.
- J. C. Stout was a racing driver.
