The park is a great place to explore nature. You can see many different kinds of trees and plants. It also provides a safe home for several endangered species. These are animals or plants that are at risk of disappearing forever.

The weather at Caswell Memorial State Park changes with the seasons. In winter, temperatures are usually cool, around 45–50 °F (7–10 °C). Summers are very hot, often reaching 85–100 °F (29–38 °C). It's common for temperatures to stay above 100 °F (38 °C) for several days in a row during summer. Because of the river and warm weather, there can be many mosquitoes, especially in summer.

The History of Caswell Park

Caswell Memorial State Park is named after a man named Thomas Caswell. He owned this beautiful forest long ago. Mr. Caswell loved the area and wanted to make sure it would be saved for future generations.

In the 1950s, his children and grandchildren helped make his wish come true. They gave about 134 acres (54 ha) of the forest to the state of California. After this generous gift, the park officially opened to the public in 1958. Thanks to the Caswell family, many people can now enjoy this special natural place.
