Catherine Ingrid Guinness (born 1 June 1952) is a British writer and socialite from the famous Guinness family. She is also known by her married names, Catherine Charteris, Lady Neidpath, and later, Catherine Hesketh. As a young woman, she moved to New York City and worked as a personal assistant for the famous artist Andy Warhol. She was an active part of the art scene at his studio, known as The Factory.

Early Life and Famous Family
Catherine Ingrid Guinness was born in Oxford, England. She is the oldest child of Jonathan Guinness and Ingrid Wyndham.
Her father's family, the Guinness family, is a well-known Irish family famous for its brewing company and for being involved in business and politics. Her mother's family, the Wyndham family, also has a long history in Britain.
Catherine's family tree includes many notable people. Her paternal grandmother was Diana Mitford, who was one of the famous Mitford sisters. Her paternal grandfather was the poet and writer Bryan Guinness, 2nd Baron Moyne. Her parents divorced in 1963. She is also the half-sister of designer Daphne Guinness.
Adult Life and Career
In her adult life, Catherine became known in both London and New York social circles. She was a close friend of King Charles III (then the Prince of Wales).
Working with Andy Warhol
In the 1970s, Catherine worked as a personal assistant for her friend, the pop artist Andy Warhol. She was part of his creative circle at his New York studio, The Factory. During this time, she appeared alongside Warhol in the 1979 film ... Cowboys.
Famous photographer Robert Mapplethorpe took pictures of her in 1976. Today, these photographs are part of the collections at the J. Paul Getty Museum and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
Marriages and Children
In July 1983, Catherine married James Charteris, Lord Neidpath. He was the heir to the Earldom of Wemyss. They lived at Stanway House, a historic manor in Gloucestershire. Together, they had two children: a son named Francis and a daughter, Lady Mary Charteris. Catherine and Lord Neidpath divorced in 1988.
In 1990, she married for a second time to Robert Fleetwood Hesketh. They had three children together. Her husband passed away unexpectedly in 2004.
Writing Career
In 1984, Catherine co-wrote a book with her father titled The House of Mitford. The book tells the story of her grandmother, Diana Mitford, and her well-known sisters.
