Catherine "Kay" S. Fowler is an important anthropologist. An anthropologist is a scientist who studies human societies and cultures. Kay Fowler earned her highest degree, a PhD, from the University of Pittsburgh. After her studies, she became a teacher. From 1964 to 2007, she taught at the University of Nevada, Reno. Today, she is a Professor Emerita there. This means she is a retired professor who still holds a special title.

Kay Fowler is a research associate at two big museums. She works with the Nevada State Museum and the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History.
