Discover Cedar Hedge Lake

Cedar Hedge Lake is completely inside Green Lake Township. This area is known for its beautiful natural spots. The lake is a great example of the lovely scenery you can find there.

What Makes it Special?

This lake is known for two main things. First, its bottom is very sandy. This is different from many lakes that might have muddy or rocky bottoms. Second, it has a large island right in the middle of it. This island, Cedar Hedge Island, adds to the lake's unique look. The deepest part of Cedar Hedge Lake is about 66 feet (20.1 meters). That's like stacking more than ten average-sized cars on top of each other!

How Water Flows Through It

Lakes are often connected to rivers and other bodies of water, and Cedar Hedge Lake is no different. Water flows out of Cedar Hedge Lake into a river called the Tullers River. This river then carries the water to a nearby lake, which is Green Lake. From Green Lake, the water continues its journey into the Betsie River. Finally, the Betsie River flows all the way out to Lake Michigan, one of the Great Lakes! So, the water you see in Cedar Hedge Lake eventually makes its way to a much bigger lake.
