Centenary is a small place in Marion County, South Carolina, United States. It is called an "unincorporated community" because it does not have its own local government like a city or town.
You can find Centenary along Highway 41 Alt. It is about 10.5 miles (17 kilometers) south of the town of Marion. This area is mostly a farming community. It is also located near the CSX railway line.
The community got its name from the local Centenary Methodist Church. This church was named to celebrate a 100-year milestone in Methodism, which is a branch of Christianity.
