Cerro del Vigía is a famous hill in Ponce, Puerto Rico. It's located just north of the city. This hill is a popular spot for visitors because it has some cool places to see. You can find the Museo Castillo Serrallés, the Cruceta del Vigía, and the old Hotel Ponce Intercontinental here.
Standing 456 feet tall, Cerro del Vigía is part of the Cordillera Central mountain range. It's also home to some beautiful old houses, like the famous Castillo Serrallés, which is now a museum.
Where is Cerro del Vigía?
This hill is part of the Cordillera Central mountains. It sits just north of Barrio Segundo in the city area of Ponce. Its exact location is 18° 01' 08" North, 66° 37' 13" West. The hills in this area are mostly made of a rock called limestone.
What can you see from the top?
Many people say the view from Cerro del Vigía is the best in all of Ponce. On a clear day, you can see all the way to Caja de Muertos, which is an island.
There's a tall, 100-foot observation cross at the top of the hill. From there, you can look out over the entire area. The easiest way to get to the top of the hill is by taking Calle Bertoly.
