Cevdet Yılmaz (born April 1, 1967) is an important politician from Turkey. Since 2023, he has been the second and current Vice President of Turkey. This is a very high-ranking job, helping the President lead the country. Before this, he held other big jobs like Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey and Minister of Development.

Early Life and Education
Cevdet Yılmaz was born in a village called Şabanköy, in Bingöl, Turkey. His family is Kurdish. He finished high school in Bingöl in 1983.
After high school, he went to the Middle East Technical University. He studied Public Administration and graduated with high honors in 1988.
In 1989, Yılmaz started working at the State Planning Organization. This organization helps plan the country's future.
Studying in the United States
From 1992 to 1994, Yılmaz went to the United States. He studied International Relations at the University of Denver. Later, he earned a doctorate degree from Bilkent University in Political Science and Public Administration.
In 2003, he was put in charge of EU Relations at the State Planning Organization. This meant he helped manage Turkey's connections with the European Union.
Important Roles in Government
Cevdet Yılmaz has held many important positions in the Turkish government.
Member of Parliament
In the 2007 elections, Yılmaz was chosen as a representative for Bingöl. This meant he became a member of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, which is like Turkey's parliament. He served as a Member of Parliament for many years, representing different areas.
Minister of State
On May 1, 2009, he was appointed as a Minister of State. This role involved helping the Prime Minister with various tasks.
Minister of Development
On July 6, 2011, Yılmaz became the Minister of Development. In this job, he was responsible for planning and guiding Turkey's economic and social growth. He held this position until 2015. He served as Minister of Development again from 2015 to 2016.
Deputy Prime Minister
From August 28 to November 17, 2015, Cevdet Yılmaz also served as a Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey. This was during a special interim government.
Vice President of Turkey
