The Chapinophis xanthocheilus is a special kind of snake. It belongs to the Colubridae family, which is a very large group of snakes. This snake is found only in one country: Guatemala.

It lives in the cloud forests of the Sierra de las Minas mountains. A cloud forest is a tropical forest that is often covered in clouds, making it very misty and wet. This snake is the only known species in its genus called Chapinophis. This means it's quite unique!
