First Sergeant Charles H. DePuy (born September 8, 1842, died January 6, 1935) was a brave American soldier. He fought during the American Civil War. DePuy received the Medal of Honor, which is the highest award for bravery a soldier can get in the United States. He earned this special award for his actions during a battle called the Battle of the Crater. This battle happened in Petersburg, Virginia on July 30, 1864. He was given the Medal of Honor on July 30, 1896.
