Charles Thomas (born October 3, 1969) is an American basketball coach. He is also a former professional player. He played in the National Basketball Association (NBA).

Early Life and College Basketball
Charles Thomas was born in Dayton, Ohio. He grew up and went to Everett High School in Lansing, Michigan. After high school, he played college basketball for Eastern Michigan University. He played for the Eastern Michigan Eagles from 1987 to 1991.
Professional Playing Career
Playing in the NBA and Other US Leagues
After college, Charles Thomas started his professional basketball career. He played for the Detroit Pistons in the NBA during the 1991–1992 season. Thomas also spent eight years playing in other American basketball leagues. These leagues included the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) and the United States Basketball League. He played for many different teams during this time. In 1999, he won a CBA championship with the Connecticut Pride.
Playing in Australia
Charles Thomas also played basketball in Australia. He spent four seasons in the Australian NBL. He played two seasons with the Wollongong Hawks. Then he played two seasons with the Adelaide 36ers. Thomas was a key part of the Wollongong Hawks team that won the NBL championship in the 2000–01 season. He left the Hawks after the next season to join the Adelaide 36ers.
Family
Charles Thomas has a twin brother named Carl Thomas. Carl also played in the NBA.
Coaching Career
After his playing career, Charles Thomas became a basketball coach. He has worked as an assistant coach for several college teams. From 2006 to 2007, he was an assistant coach for Radford. He then coached at Northwood from 2007 to 2009. From 2009 to 2017, he was an assistant coach for Akron. He then coached at Duquesne from 2017 to 2023. Most recently, he was an assistant coach for Saint Louis from 2023 to 2024.
