Chase Edmonds (born April 13, 1996) is an American professional football player. He is a running back for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the National Football League (NFL). A running back is a player who primarily carries the ball. Chase played college football for the Fordham Rams. The Arizona Cardinals picked him in the 2018 NFL draft. He has also played for the Miami Dolphins and Denver Broncos.

Growing Up and High School Football
Chase Edmonds grew up in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He went to Central Dauphin East High School. There, he played both basketball and football. As a senior, he was amazing on the football field. He gained 2,378 total yards and scored 25 touchdowns. This included 1,984 rushing yards. He was chosen as an All-State player. He also played in the famous Big 33 Football Classic game. He was even named the Most Valuable Player of that game.
Even with all his success, bigger college teams didn't show much interest. This was mainly because of his size.
College Football Career
Chase played college football for Fordham University from 2014 to 2017. In his first year, he played in 14 games. He ran for 1,838 yards and scored 23 touchdowns. He also caught the ball for 121 yards and one touchdown. For his great performance, he won the 2014 Jerry Rice Award. This award is given to the best rookie player in the NCAA's Football Championship Subdivision (FCS).
In his second year, Chase played in 12 games. He rushed for 1,648 yards and scored 20 touchdowns. He also caught five receiving touchdowns. During his third year, he played in 11 games. He rushed for 1,799 yards and scored 19 touchdowns. He also had one receiving touchdown. In a game against Lafayette, he set an FCS record. He averaged an incredible 21.1 yards every time he carried the ball.
In his final season at Fordham, Chase was injured. He only played in seven games. He rushed for 577 yards and five touchdowns. In a game against Holy Cross, he set a new record for career rushing yards in the Patriot League. Chase finished his college career with 5,862 rushing yards. This placed him fifth all-time in NCAA FCS history. He earned a degree in Communications.
Professional Football Career
Arizona Cardinals
The Arizona Cardinals chose Chase Edmonds in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL draft. He was the 134th player picked overall. He signed his first professional contract on May 11, 2018. Chase played his first NFL game on September 9, 2018. He ran for 24 yards and caught four passes for 24 yards. On December 2, 2018, he scored his first two professional touchdowns. This helped the Cardinals win against the Green Bay Packers. In his first year, he rushed for 208 yards and two touchdowns.
In 2019, Chase had his first game with over 100 rushing yards. He gained 126 rushing yards and scored three touchdowns against the New York Giants. This helped the Cardinals win 27–21. For the whole 2019 season, he rushed for 303 yards and four touchdowns. He also caught 12 passes for 105 yards and one touchdown.
During the 2020 season, Chase had a great game against the Seattle Seahawks. He gained 145 total yards from running and catching the ball. The Cardinals won that game in overtime. He played in all 16 games that season. He rushed for 448 yards and one touchdown. He also caught 53 passes for 402 yards and four touchdowns.
In 2021, Chase started the season as the main running back for the Cardinals. He started the first nine games. However, he got a high ankle sprain in Week 9. He was placed on the injured reserve list. He came back to play later in December. He finished the season with a career-high 592 rushing yards and two touchdowns. He also had 43 catches for 311 yards.
Miami Dolphins
On March 14, 2022, Chase signed a two-year contract with the Miami Dolphins.
Denver Broncos
Later in 2022, on November 1, the Dolphins traded Chase to the Denver Broncos. He was traded along with some draft picks. He suffered another high ankle sprain in Week 11. He was placed on injured reserve again. He returned to play in December. The Broncos released him on March 13, 2023.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
On March 20, 2023, Chase signed a one-year contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was placed on injured reserve in September 2023. He was activated in October. On March 13, 2024, Chase signed again with the Buccaneers. He was placed on injured reserve once more on August 27.
