Chase Simon, born on March 11, 1989, is an American basketball player who used to play professionally. He played basketball in many countries like Lithuania, Poland, Spain, Israel, and France. Before becoming a pro, he played college basketball for Central Michigan and Detroit.

Chase Simon's Early Life and College Basketball Journey
Chase Simon grew up in Detroit, Michigan. He went to Detroit Community High School. There, he was a star player, scoring about 23 points and grabbing seven rebounds in each game. He helped his team reach the quarter-finals of the state tournament in 2007. Because of his great skills, he was named to the First-team Class C All-State.
Simon started his college basketball career at Central Michigan. In his first year, he averaged 4.1 points and 1.5 rebounds per game. After one year, he decided to transfer to Detroit. Due to NCAA rules, he had to sit out his first season at Detroit.
He then played three strong seasons for Detroit. In his senior year, he was a key player, averaging 13.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.1 steals per game. By the end of his college career at Detroit, Chase Simon had scored 1,386 points. This placed him 17th on the all-time scoring list for the Detroit Titans.
Chase Simon's Professional Basketball Career
After college, Chase Simon was not chosen in the 2012 NBA draft. However, he still got a chance to play with the Chicago Bulls in the 2012 NBA Summer League. This is a special tournament where new players try to show off their skills.
Playing in Europe: First Steps
In September 2012, Simon signed his first professional contract with a Greek team called Aris. But he left the team soon after because they were having money problems.
Later that year, in October 2012, Simon joined Šiauliai, a team in Lithuania. This was his real start in professional basketball.
The next year, in August 2013, he moved to Poland. He signed a one-year deal with Siarka Tarnobrzeg.
Shining in Poland and Israel
In 2014, Simon signed with another Polish team, Anwil Włocławek. He had a fantastic season here. In one game in December 2014, he scored a career-high 30 points! He made 10 of his 14 shots.
Overall, in 30 games for Włocławek, he averaged 16.8 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.7 steals per game. He was a very important player for the team.
After Poland, Simon played for Manresa in Spain during the 2015–2016 season.
In August 2016, he moved to Israel to play for Maccabi Ashdod. He continued to play very well. In March 2017, he scored 29 points in a big win. He was also named the Israeli League Round 27 MVP (Most Valuable Player) in April 2017 after another great game.
He finished the season as the fifth-highest scorer in the Israeli league, averaging 17.1 points per game. He also averaged 4.6 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.2 steals.
Playing in France and Return to Poland
In July 2017, Simon signed with JL Bourg in France. He played one season there, showing his scoring ability with a season-high 23 points in a game in March 2018.
In September 2018, Chase Simon returned to Anwil Włocławek in Poland for a second time. This return was very successful! He helped the team win the Polish Basketball Cup in 2019. Even better, they became the PLK Champions (Polish League Champions) in 2019. This was a major achievement in his career.
Final Years with JDA Dijon
In June 2020, Simon signed with JDA Dijon, another team in France. He played for them until 2023. Sadly, injuries affected his playing time in his last season.
In September 2023, Chase Simon announced his retirement from professional basketball. He had a long and successful career playing in many different countries.
Personal Life
Chase Simon was raised by his mother, Denise Simon, in Detroit. His cousin, Randy Brown, also played basketball. Randy played for New Mexico State in college and later for three different teams in the NBA.
