Chay Hews' Soccer Journey
Starting in Australia
Chay Hews began his professional soccer career in 1994. He played for the Brisbane Strikers team. This team was part of Australia's top league. It was called the National Soccer League (NSL).
Playing in Japan
In July 1999, Chay moved to Japan. He joined a team called Bellmare Hiratsuka. He played his first game in Japan's main league, the J-League. This happened the very next month.
Back to Australia
Later in 1999, Chay returned to Australia. He rejoined the Brisbane Strikers. He had to wait a little while to play again. This was because of international paperwork. He started playing for them again in January 2000.
Time in Sweden and England
In the middle of 2000, Chay moved to Sweden. He took a break from soccer for about six months. He then returned to the Strikers in December 2000. He signed a contract to play until the end of the 2000–01 National Soccer League season.
In 2001, Chay Hews joined an English team. This team was Carlisle United. They played in Football League Division Three. He left the team in October of that year. He played five games for them and scored two goals.
