Che Pope (born May 3, 1970) is an American music expert. He is a record executive, producer, and songwriter from Boston, Massachusetts. He used to be the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of GOOD Music, which means he helped manage the company. He also started his own company called Wrkshp Media.

Che Pope is famous for his work on the album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, which won a Grammy Award for Album of the Year. He also produced "Bound 2" by Kanye West, which was nominated for a Grammy. He helped create the albums Cruel Summer and Yeezus.

Starting in the Music World

Che Pope began his music career in 1994. He signed with a producer named Teddy Riley. A friend introduced Pope's music to Riley. In 1995, Pope moved to New York City. There, he started producing songs for Wyclef Jean and The Fugees. He worked on popular songs like Destiny's Child's "No, No, No Part 2" and "Ghetto Supastar."

While working with Wyclef Jean, Che Pope met Lauryn Hill. She asked him to produce and write songs with her. They worked on music for Aretha Franklin and Carlos Santana. He also helped create the famous album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. This album won him his first Grammy Award. After this project, there were some disagreements about who got credit for the work. Che Pope decided to work on his own projects.

Working with Big Names

After working with Lauryn Hill, Che Pope continued to produce music. He worked on projects in many different countries. In 1999, he became the Vice President of A&R at Warner Bros Records. A&R means "Artists and Repertoire." It's about finding new artists and helping them make music.

Later, Pope moved to Los Angeles to work on music for movies. He was hired by the famous composer Hans Zimmer. Pope helped produce music for over 150 films, TV shows, and commercials. In 2000, he left Zimmer's studio. A friend then introduced him to Dr. Dre, another very famous producer. Che Pope joined Dr. Dre's production team and worked with him for over eight years. Leading the Way at G.O.O.D. Music

In 2012, Che Pope joined G.O.O.D. Music as a partner. He also became the head of A&R for the company. Besides his management work, he kept producing music for the artists signed to the label. In 2014, he became the Chief Operations Officer (COO) of G.O.O.D. Music. This means he was like a main manager, helping to run the whole company.

Che Pope also helped start the partnership between Kanye West and the clothing company Adidas. This led to the popular Yeezy clothing line. More recently, Pope produced songs like "Jukebox Joints" for ASAP Rocky. He also worked on "Tell Your Friends" for The Weeknd's 2015 album Beauty Behind the Madness.
