The Cheam Range is a cool group of mountains in British Columbia, Canada. You can find it in the Fraser Valley area, close to the city of Chilliwack. These mountains are part of a bigger chain called the Skagit Range, which is also known as the Canadian Cascades. The Cheam Range is known for its many tall and rugged peaks.
The highest point in this range is Welch Peak, which stands at 2,431 meters (about 7,976 feet) tall!

What Makes the Cheam Range Special?
The Cheam Range has some interesting features and names for its peaks.
The "Four Sisters" Mountains
If you look at the western part of the Cheam Range from certain spots in the Fraser Valley, you'll see four peaks that stand out. People often call these the "Four Sisters." They are:
- Cheam Peak
- Lady Peak
- Baby Munday
- Stewart Peak
They look quite impressive together, almost like a family of mountains!
The Lucky Four Group
Further to the east in the Cheam Range, there's another group of peaks. These are known as the "Lucky Four Group." They got this name because they are close to an old, abandoned mine called the Lucky Four Mine.
There's even a glacier in this area, located between Welch Peak and Foley Peak. It's called the Lucky Four Glacier.
Who Were Foley, Welch, and Stewart?
You might notice that some of the peaks, like Foley, Welch, and Stewart, share names with people. These peaks were named after partners in a very important company called Foley, Welch and Stewart. This company was a big contractor in early British Columbia. They helped build many important projects, including parts of the Pacific Great Eastern Railway.
