Chehalis (pronounced shuh-HAY-lis) is a small community in British Columbia, Canada. It's known for its forests, farms, and as a home to First Nations people.

This community is located on Highway 7. It sits on the west bank of the Harrison River. You can find it between the town of Mission and the popular spot of Harrison Hot Springs.

What is Chehalis?

Chehalis is a special place for the Sts'Ailes (pronounced Sty-les). They are a First Nations group. The community is home to their government, known as the Chehalis First Nation.

Where is Chehalis Located?

The community is right where the Chehalis River flows into the larger Harrison River. This area is part of the Lower Mainland region of British Columbia.

Chehalis Indian Reserves

A big part of Chehalis is called Chehalis Indian Reserve No. 5. This is where the main community of the Sts'Ailes people is located.

There is also Chehalis Indian Reserve No. 6. This reserve is located across the Harrison River from the main community. Both native-owned and other businesses operate in this area.
